Do you ever feel like the internet is a hostile place? And I'm not just talking about the trolls. I mean, there are trolls everywhere on the internet, and it's not always easy to ignore them. But sometimes it's even harder to ignore the other stuff: the racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia... all that stuff that makes you wonder if maybe humans aren't as evolved as we think we are. But does it make you want to leave the internet? Do you want to quit using social media altogether? And if so—do you think that's really an option? I don't think it's a good idea to pay attention to hate speech on the internet. If you do, you'll just get hurt. I think we should all focus on the positive things people have to say and not worry about the negative ones.
